Literature Text

See the Jester flying round,
Inciting smiles, destroying frowns,
Flits about on winds unseen,
Delighting his chosen queen.

Watch the Jester bank and roll,
Showing bare his helpful soul,
Open, honest, caring and sly,
Preferring to create than lie.

And yet the Jester blinks and sighs,
Then he slows, then stops, then cries,
For all he cheers those that he sees,
When in sadness, alone sits he.

See the Jester flying round,
Miss a step, come tumbling down,
Rolls about on spikes unseen,
Wishing for his chosen queen.

Watch the Jester cease to thrash,
A gentle kiss closes his gash,
The one the past left on his eye,
His secret tears begin to dry.

And now the Jester starts to smile,
His queen holds him still for a while,
Then his feet twitch and his arms tense,
He’s alive again, this she can sense.

See the Jester kiss her grin,
She knows her smile will always win,
Against the black stains in his heart,
That only she saw from the start.

Watch the Jester step away,
His smiled returned, his cheeky way,
And now she leaves but he’s okay,
He won’t need saving again today.

And now the Jester jumps and flies,
Returns into his friends’ skies,
Saving them should they ever fall,
Help them up, protect them all.

He hides his heart from aid and attack,
The part of him that festers black,
So no one sees the Jesters tears,
He weeps alone, but laughs with peers.

Who watches the watchman?
Who cheers the clown?
Who lifts the Jester when he’s down?

His queen.

I will not say the seven-letter word starting with 'A' that I'm thinking of.

That was touching, Cricky, I really liked it. I envy you poet people >_>

And I need to poke someone :poke:
